Booking a Kids Magician in NYC: Common Questions
Jonny's Classic Party (40 minutes plus balloon animals) is a flat NYC rate with no hidden fees. The Deluxe Show with comedy levitation finale is priced higher. Final quote depends on location and venue.
Yes. Jonny's show is designed to work in any NYC space. The performance area needed is just 6 feet by 6 feet, this doesn’t include seating area for kids.
The show cannot be done surrounded so it’s preferable to perform against a back wall so everyone is in front.
He performs in apartments across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, no stage required, no special setup.
Most NYC weekend dates book 4 to 8 weeks ahead, with Saturdays in spring and fall filling earliest. Holiday-adjacent weekends like Halloween, December, and spring break need 2 to 3 months of lead time. Weekday parties are more flexible. Check availability as soon as you have a date in mind.
Jonny performs at NYC apartments (pre-war and modern), brownstones, townhouses, restaurants, private dining rooms, schools, daycares, community centers, party venues, rooftops, terraces, although the best place for a children’s show is indoors.
The show is designed for kids ages 4 to 10. The pacing, humor, and audience participation are calibrated for that range. For NYC parties with mixed ages (siblings, cousins), the show can still work.
If you want Jonny for a 3 year old party he can specially calibrate the show using a puppet which the younger kids love. Below 3 is simply too young to understand what’s going on.
Yes. Every child in attendance takes home a custom balloon creation. Monkeys, elephants, hats, dogs, etc it’s the child’s choice. This is included in both Classic and Deluxe packages at no extra charge. Balloon time happens at the end so kids leave with something in hand.
